The Bible was not written in English – in fact, English didn’t even exist when it was written! The first parts of the Bible were written in Hebrew, the language of the Hebrew people. The last parts are written in greek. The English Bibles today are translations of ancient copies, including ones written in Greek.
The book of Matthew, the first book of the Greek scriptures, reveals the name of the Son of the Mighty One. Your bible probably reads:
“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
Just looking at this verse, one would believe that his name is Jesus. Did you know that no ancient copies say “Jesus?” In fact, NO translations had that name until 1629! (1600 years after his death!) The Greek copies that we have show the name Iesous. From history, we know that Iesous was the way people wrote the Hebrew name Yahushua into Greek. The messenger (angel) told Joseph:
“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Yahushua, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
The name of the Son of the Most High is Yahushua! A name that means “Yah is Salvation!”His name, Yahushua, was replaced with the name Jesus!
